It might only need a few seconds of your time, but cutting an avocado is still something that continues to frustrate a lot of new cooks.
It doesn’t need to be that way though! It’s a simple technique that is over with an instant.
#1. Slice the skin To open up the avocado and get to the pit, you will need to slice the avocado vertically across the whole fruit.
#2. Remove the pit Whack your knife into the pit and dig it in. It feels like an aggressive act, but it’s completely safe! Once your knife is firmly in the pit, then twist the avocado round and remove it.
#3. Slice the flesh Use just the tip of your knife to slice in the flesh, creating several strips. Make sure you don’t pierce the avocado’s skin.
#4. Scoop out the flesh Get a spoon and dig gently underneath the skin of the flesh to dig it out. Be careful to preserve its perfect strip form.
