BBQ Dry Rub
- ½ tbsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp ground cumin
Fire up smoker to 225°F (107°C)
In a small bowl, combine the dry rub ingredients. Combine well, using a fork to crush or remove any clumps that may form.
Rinse chicken drumsticks and pat dry with paper towels
Apply the dry rub seasoning to the chicken, covering evenly
Once your smoker is at 225°F, place drumsticks on smoker or grill grates. Close the lid and smoke for 1 hour.
With a digital meat thermometer, check the internal temperature of the thickest part of one drumstick. Remove the chicken from the smoker once internal temperature hits 165°F (74°C)
Allow the drumsticks to cool and rest for 5 minutes before serving
