Ingredients

  • cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chipotle powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp stevia
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp arrowroot
  • ½ cup hot water optional

Instructions

  • Start by warming up a saucepan over a medium-low heat.
  • Add the paprika, oregano, vinegar, olive oil, garlic, black pepper, cumin, cayenne, chipotle, salt and water.
  • Add the stevia to taste and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • To make the glaze, mix the arrowroot in to two tablespoons of water.
  • Mix the glaze into the main body of the sauce. Let it continue at a simmer, stirring frequently to help prevent it from forming lumps.
  • Once you have reached your desired BBQ sauce consistency, remove from heat and pour into a container. Allow to cool before putting on lid and storing. Add more water if you would like it thinner, or more arrowroot if you want it thicker, but do keep it mind that it will thicken slightly while cooling anyway.
  • Apply lid on airtight container and store in refrigerator. Can store for up to five days.
