Chipotle BBQ Sauce
This chipotle BBQ sauce is delicious and couldn’t be easier to make. It strikes the perfect balance between spicy and sweet, and takes no time at all to make.

- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- 8 oz chopped tomatoes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large green onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 4 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp ground paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground mustard
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- kosher salt to taste
Heat up a medium saucepan to a medium-low heat. Add olive oil and chopped onions. Saute for 3-4 minutes, or until onions have started to soften and turn translucent.
Add garlic and saute for a further minute
Add all remaining ingredients and stir over heat
Reduce heat to low and cover the saucepan. Leave to simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally
Transfer to container or bottle and store in refrigerator tightly covered
Can be stored for 4 days maximum, or frozen for 2 months.
