Smoked Peanuts

Smoked peanuts coated in butter and BBQ seasoning, cooked over hickory woodfire. This protein-packed snack is easy to prepare and only takes 30 minutes to cook!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw peanuts shelled
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

Seasoning

  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Fire up your smoker to 250°F (120°C)
  • In a small bowl, combine the seasoning ingredients: kosher salt, chili powder, smoked paprika, and garlic powder
  • Melt the butter in a cast iron skillet over medium heat
  • Remove skillet from heat and add peanuts, stirring to coat the peanuts in butter. Add the seasoning, combining evenly.
  • Transfer the peanut skillet to your smoker. Add hickory wood to your coals or wood tray, and close door/lid. Smoke for 45 minutes, stirring the peanuts every 15 minutes.
  • Remove from smoker and allow peanuts to cool completely before serving. Alternatively, allow to cool then store in an airtight container.
