Ingredients

Homemade Patties

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • ½ cup feta cheese crumbled
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp fresh mint finely chopped
  • 2 tsp fresh parsley finely chopped
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper

Burger Toppings

  • 4 romaine lettuce leaves
  • ½ red onion finely sliced
  • 1 cup tzatziki
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to 450°F (230°C) and lightly oil the grate
  • To a large bowl, add the ground lamb, crumbled feta, garlic, mint, parsley, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to combine.
  • Shape the mixture into 4 even patties (you can weigh it if you’d like to be more accurate). Try to make them the same size and thickness so they cook evenly.
  • Once the grill’s up to temperature, place the burger patties on and cook for 4 minutes per side so a good outer crust forms and the internal temperature has reached 140°F (60°C). Once cooked, transfer the patties to a plate and allow them to rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • Whilst the lamb rests, start to build your burgers. Cut the buns in half and spread each with a good amount of tzatziki and add lettuce and sliced onions. Finish with the rested lamb patties and enjoy.
