Barbecue Experience
Ever since a family camping vacation in California in 2001 introduced me to real outdoor cooking, I’ve been hooked on barbecue.
Our setup was little more than a propane grill and fire pit, but it exposed me to real cooking and the endless possibilities with outdoor grilling and smoking.
Fast forward a few years and after a shoulder injury rendered me unable to work and with a lot of time on my hands, I revisited what put the fire in my belly back on that family vacation: Good BBQ cooking.
I consumed everything I could about proper low and slow barbecue cooking: TV shows, books, and articles. I put everything I learned into practice, and after a lot of trial and error, I got to grips with the cooking tradition.
With a passion for fire cooking fully stoked, I set up The Online Grill to simply document my progress and share what I’d learned with anyone who happened to pass by.
Since then, I have published over 250 BBQ recipes for the website, reviewed a range of smokers and grills, and written countless how-to guides to help people like you get the most out of their barbecue experience.
