Automated pellet auger and heat retention
Grilling ought not to be a drag. It should be fun as the best food comes from a happy chef and a chef who has fun while preparing food is a pleased one. One of the tiring processes in grilling is having to add fuel and light it up now and again.

If you get the PG24, scrap this from your list of problems as it has an automatic pellet auger. That feature channels the pellets into the firepot at just the right time they are needed. The fire pot has an auto-start ignition which sets the pellets on fire without any hustle. It also continues to set the pellets on fire during any session to give the desired and consistent temperature. The grill also does a great job in retaining temperature to provide the best testing pie you can get from a grill.
Digital control system
The main headline of the grill is the digital control system which features a dual LED temperature readout. This system allows the seamless control of temperature. It allows you to set the temperature you desire for the type of meat you will be grilling and keeps that temperature constant. Once the temperature is set, all that’s left for you to do is monitor your meat to see that it meets your specifications. The dual LED temperature readout is handy when smoking, as you will need the exact temperature.
Large pellet hopper
With pellets added to the fire pit automatically what you need next is a large pellet hopper to carry all the pellets, you will need. With the PG24 you will only fill the pellet hopper once and forget about it, giving all your attention to the food cooking in the grill. The pellet hopper has a capacity of 20 pounds.
Meat probe and lid thermometer
The grill also comes with a meat probe which allows you to check the inside temperature of the meat. All you need to do is stick it inside the meat and read the temperature from the dual-LED output monitor. The meat probe is excellent in helping determine if the meat is ready, but you also need the temperature of the cooking chamber itself, this is where the box lit thermometer comes in handy. Where the meat probe gives you temperatures of the inside of the meat, the box lid thermometer will show the temperature of the surroundings of the meat.
Easy cleaning
Most people find themselves using a grill several times without cleaning it because the cleaning process is a struggle, but this only makes the work worse, you can say goodbye to that struggle with the PG24 Pellet Grill from Camp Chef. The interior of the grill is designed to be self-cleaning to lessen the burden on the user. All the grease and fat that builds up during smoking and grilling is drained to an outside bucket on the side which can then be easily washed. Another cause of stress is cleaning the fire pit, with this pellet smoker grill you get an ash cup, a simple pull of the ash knob discharges all the ash in the fire pit into the cup, the cup is then removed. Proper disposal of the ash can be done with ease.
Pros
- Dual temperature sensors
- Large fuel hopper capacity
- Large cooking area of 560 cubic inches
- Power outage bypass
- Easy cleaning
- Accessories attachable
Cons
- High power usage
Portable
One of the main reasons you will get a grill is to have a barbecue out in the wilderness with friends or family. To do this, you will have to carry your grill with you. The PG24 pellet grill has a length of 114.3 centimeters, a width of 53.3 centimeters, and a height of 129.5 centimeters including the legs. With these dimensions, you can easily fit it in the back of any truck, or if you have a large trunk and know your way around using tools you can temporarily remove the legs and re-attach them when you arrive at your destination. All these manageable dimensions come coupled with a weight of 127 pounds which is 57.61 kilograms. Now this grill will motivate you to travel.
Perfect chimney
The chimney is at the back of the grill. So, it does not stick out too much at the top and keep the annoying smoke away from you. The chimney also has a lid that protects it from unwanted substances like water.
Attachment compatible
The grill has a lovely tabletop on the side to place all you need while you grill, this is also a great place to prepare your meat before putting it in the grill or while the grill is preheating. With the use of this space, the grill allows you to attach some accessories that will make your work easier or will enable you to carry out more than one activity at one go on the same station. The grill also has two wheels on the other end for mobility. These wheels make it easy to move the grill suppose you have to shift it because of the wind, the sun, or different weather patterns.
Final Verdict
The Camp Chef PG24 Pellet Grill is excellent and affordable, compared to others that have the same features. It provides excellent value for money. That is why I would strongly recommend it especially for those looking to get their first grill and aren’t very familiar with grilling.
